The Most Unique Flower

I went on a walk and came across this flower. This particular flower was a bit different. Taller than the others. Didn’t blend in. And the words that just came to me without thought were “It’s just…happy...”
This flower knows it is unique. She’s not afraid to stand tall and stand out. She notices all the other flowers huddled together pointing fingers…well, leaves… some in awe and some in spite. But she knows that her story is not their story. She’s doing the best she can with what she’s got. And she knows that healthy flowers will eventually jump up and bloom on the stem with her. And the unhealthy ones maybe weren’t meant to grow tall in the first place.
We’ve all felt what this flower feels. Maybe with the exception that flowers don’t have human-like emotions (or do they?) But we’ve been there. Different. Alone. Outcast. Questioning why others choose to stay. Questioning why we didn’t. It’s a kind of bravery we never knew we had.
But when you take your first step… YOUR first step… towards your own life of freedom and beauty and control and peace… someone will look up at you as inspiration and think “Wow…. She’s just….happy…” and with that, another flower blooms on the highest stem, and the cycle continues.
