Divorce is like a Cactus

This photo was taken by our founder, Jennifer Morris, on a recent trip to Arizona. This particular cactus reminded her of her own divorce, which prompted her to start Daisy Camp almost 20 years ago.

Divorce is prickly and unpredictable. It’s a cluster of information, and you don’t know where to go. Just when you think you have it under control, something else comes up. Every new arm hurts and can leave a scar.

But… the cactus still grows. It may not look like a typical cactus, but it still stands. It may have scars, but it’s still beautiful. It may be tender to the touch, but it protects itself from those who will cause it harm. It is confident. It is complex. It is calm and capable.

And so are you.
